Is there a difference between alloy and steel spindle moulder tooling?

The biggest difference between spindle moulder tooling is generally the material it is crafted from – but this doesn’t make as much difference as you would think. Alloy and steel blocks and cutters are equally effective and the quality of the cut isn’t affected. It is worth noting, however, that heavier steel blocks need a more serious motor to get them spinning, which is much easier with a larger, more powerful machine. Therefore, if you don’t have this, consider investing in alloy blocks, which are lighter and easier to get going.
