Looking for an air compressor but not sure which is best?

Air compressors convert engine power into compressed air by forcing air into a tank. The air is then controlled by a pressure switch that automatically turns off the motor when maximum working pressure has been achieved. The compressed air is later released from the tank to generate power until the pressure in the tank drops and a switch triggers the motor, allowing the tank to fill up automatically.

Here at Kendal Tools & Machinery, we know how important it is to choose the right air compressor for your needs. That’s why we have a wide variety of SIP air compressors for sale and will be more than happy to assist you in choosing the best one.

An air compressor to suit every need
Air compressors have numerous uses in both professional and DIY environments. These include spray painting, inflating tyres, drilling, cutting, sanding, grinding and stapling, to name just a few.

At Kendal Tools, we understand that no two customers are the same, and neither are their projects.

For instance, you might be looking for an air compressor to suit your business’ demands, or a hobbyist looking to equip your workshop with pneumatic tools.

Perhaps space is at a premium or you need to attend jobs in various settings? In which case, a portable air compressor would be ideal.

Luckily, we provide an extensive range of air compressors from SIP – including low-noise models which are perfect for situations where volumes need to be kept to a minimum. These come in particularly handy for tradesmen working in offices, shops, studios and laboratories, as well as DIY enthusiasts who have been told several times to keep the noise down when tinkering in their shed or garage-converted workshop!
The benefits of SIP air compressors
Our SIP compressors are individually tested by qualified SIP engineers. These ultra-strong SIP air compressors are reliable to use and can easily cope with heavy prolonged activity. Our air compressors are available in a variety of different formats: oil-free, with a direct drive for everyday use, or with a lubricated belt drive which gives the compressor a longer lifespan.

Whether you’re looking to perform a spot of DIY on a budget or need a heavy-duty industrial compressor for your business, you’re sure to find the perfect air compressor for you – and at an extremely competitive price, too! Our compressors contain receiver tanks varying in size from 6L – for the more serious DIY users looking for a portable option – to an industrial level 270L. Our industrial size stationary SIP air compressors are suitable for permanent installation and are powered by Honda petrol engines.

How do air compressors work?

An air compressor is powered by an engine that turns electrical energy into kinetic energy and creates pressurised air by forcing it into a container. The pressurised air generated by air compressors can be used to power a wide range of pneumatic tools – including impact wrenches, sanders, and paint sprayers – and within heating and air conditioning systems. Whilst there are several types of compressors available to buy online at Kendal Tools, we can assure you that they are all easy to operate and come with detailed instructions. Plus, if you’re unsure about how the system works, you’re always welcome to contact our experts.

What size compressor do I need?

As a leading supplier of air compressors, we stock a variety of sizes – here at Kendal Tools – and appreciate that knowing which to choose can be easier said than done. That’s why our team is always on hand to assist, ensuring you make an informed choice. To determine the best compressor size for your needs, we need to know how it will be used. For example, if you require an air compressor to power air tools, it helps if you know the required CFM (cubic feet per metre) of each tool. To discuss your requirements with our specialists and find out which of our air compressors is right for you, feel free to get in touch with us on 01539 733 774.

Where can I install an air compressor?

An air compressor is a flexible piece of equipment, used by various industries. Whilst you should always refer to the instruction manual supplied with the compressor, there are several factors to consider when installing one at your facility, including: • The floor needs to be level. Though not something we supply at Kendal Tools, vibration mounting pads are recommended. • The compressor needs to be installed in a well-ventilated room. • There needs to be at least a 24” clearance from the walls to allow for efficient airflow. If you have any further questions regarding the installation of air compressors, don’t hesitate to send us a message, and we’ll get back to you with more information.
